Matthew Ashley, partner of the year, is appointed lead Managing Partner of Mazars Sydney office

International audit, tax and advisory firm Mazars announces the appointment of Matthew Ashley as the sole Managing Partner of Mazars Sydney office, with effect from 1 September 2022. Matthew currently holds a Joint Managing Partner role alongside Jim Mascitelli, who will step down from the Managing Partner responsibilities. During Jim’s time as Managing Partner the firm experienced significant growth and achieved several milestones.

While Jim has been in the Managing Partner role Mazars in Australia doubled its revenue growth and implemented a new brand identity that reaffirms Mazars’ purpose and long-standing values of integrity, responsibility and accountability. Jim will continue his role as trusted advisor to his large portfolio of clients and pursue opportunities for the firm. Now building on this momentum, Matthew is taking the Mazars Sydney office forward as it accelerates its focus in the mid-market space.

Matthew brings a wealth of knowledge having progressed his career at Mazars. Matthew joined the firm in 2001 as a cadet and was named Partner in 2011. During his tenure with the firm Matthew has held various positions on the Mazars Asia Pacific Board and the Australian National Board.

Matthew was recently announced the recipient of the 2022 Australian Accounting Awards, Partner of the Year. This award is known as the benchmark for excellence in Australia and recognises those influencing the profession and propelling the industry forward.
