17 January 2024 — International audit, tax and advisory firm, Mazars strengthens its internal audit and risk consulting division by leveraging its global mobility program to further equip clients with the knowledge, techniques, and solutions to anticipate and respond to critical challenges.
Sydney Managing Partner, Matthew Ashley, comments: "We’re delighted to welcome Corentin Cachard to the Sydney office as part of Mazars’ integrated partnership. Corentin has a proven track record with our European clientele having been based in our Paris office in recent years and strengthens the risk consulting division in Sydney. This move caters to the growing demand in the Australian market, enabling us to offer a comprehensive range of services in risk management and internal audit.
This new expertise enhances our advisory offering in Australia, supplementing the expansion of our Financial Advisory and Sustainability functions earlier this year, and equips us to better meet our clients’ interdisciplinary needs. Specifically, this will address our clients’ needs to strengthen their control environment surrounding ESG risks and reporting directives.”
With an academic background in internal audit and risk management, Corentin joined Mazars’ risk consulting team in Paris in 2021 following a three-year tenure in the financial audit and assurance division. He is well-versed in the approach to risk management, with experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring internal control and regulatory compliance processes for listed companies. He has also managed related testing campaigns, including those for organisations requiring compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
Corentin has successfully carried out and managed several internal audit assignments for clients across various sectors, ranging from unicorn companies to global leaders. Moreover, he has been instrumental in developing training courses and workshops designed to promote a risk culture within organisations and for risk-related professions such as the internal auditors of multinationals corporations.
Audit Partner, Rose Megale concludes, "Bolstered by additional resources and considered expansion of our team, Mazars is well positioned to anticipate and respond to the multifaceted challenges of our clients and their operational risks in an agile and tailored manner. Our approach to risk management adopted by our risk consulting team will strengthen confidence in our clients' governance, risk management, and internal control processes.”
