Jamie Towers Tax Partner

I work closely with my clients to simplify taxation obligations and create tax effective structures and solutions for them and their businesses to allow them to keep more of their hard earned profits.
As the head of Mazars Queensland’s Tax Consulting Division, I provide taxation advice to a diverse range of clients, from international groups and listed corporates to family businesses and high net worth individuals.
For the corporates, I advise on Income tax and GST issues around M & A activity and restructures and assisting international businesses with tax efficient structures.
For the family businesses and high net worth individuals, I help my clients achieve their asset protection, wealth creation and inter-generational goals. Using my many years of experience, combined with a passion for presenting and training, I can take the complexity out of taxation and explain the issues to clients in a simple manner.
As a presenter, I regularly speak at seminars on taxation topics for various professional bodies. I also assist smaller accounting, legal and financial services firms by providing them with technical tax advice to help them service their clients.
Apart from Tax Consulting, I also lead Mazars Queensland’s China Services Team. This team has a number of qualified accountants fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese who are able to assist Chinese businesses in Australia.
Our team has a special focus on assisting our international clients to establish and become successful at doing business in Australia with clients from Asia, Europe, Canada and USA. This allows my clients to concentrate on expanding their business, whilst knowing that compliance requirements are being looked after.
When I’m not at work, I like to challenge the ‘boring accountant’ stereotype. I am passionate about travel and keeping fit and have trekked to Everest Base Camp, climbed Mt Kilimanjaro, white water rafted on the Nile and kayaked around icebergs in Antarctica, along with participating in triathlons and marathons.
