What are your expectations of a graduate once they have joined?

With your willingness to learn and the development we provide, we expect you to put your new expertise in to practice and start contributing towards providing an excellent client service from the outset. You can expect to be part of highly engaged, supportive teams working together to deliver high quality outputs in line with client expectations and deadlines.

What support will be provided to graduates?

On your start date, you will be paired up with a buddy, someone in your team whose role it will be to help you settle in, introduce you to everyone and help with any queries. They will be your buddy on an ongoing basis, so you will always have a go-to person close by. As a graduate, you are automatically part of a cohort of peers, other graduates starting at the same time or throughout the year and there will be lots of opportunity to network and socialise with them.

We also provide you with a mentor, someone with more experience from outside of your team who has previously been in a similar role to you, and likely to have shared similar experiences, so well equipped to offer advice on any problems you are facing or queries, no matter how big or small. Their role will be to help build your skills, empower you to progress successfully and aim to make you comfortable to share your thoughts and express how you feel.

Your line manager will be responsible for your overall progression. They will meet with you regularly to provide you with feedback and be available to answer any questions you may have.

Is there a rotation program?

We recognise that our graduates want to achieve a good level of capability and progress in their chosen career path as quickly as possible, so currently we do not offer a mandatory rotation program. At the same time, we want to give our graduates the opportunity and freedom to grow, move around and experiment with a different career path if they choose. We are open to exploring opportunities to transfer our graduates to other teams on a temporary or permanent basis as and when the need arises.

General

Does your office offer flexible working?

We recognise the importance of an agile and flexible workforce and support our people with flexible working practices. We have adjusted to a new way of working and our people can collaborate, share and connect on a professional and social level regardless of their working arrangements.

How did your firm respond to the pandemic?

The safety and wellbeing of our employees is our upmost priority, and our offices were closed to all unless there were exceptional circumstances. With the IT and technical infrastructure already in place, our workforce were able to easily transition from office to home working. At a team level, our people spoke with each other daily on video calls to maintain contact and visibility. At a firm level, our offices collaborated for weekly exercise sessions and national games for a positive distraction. Everyone had access to mental wellbeing support via our employee assistance provider, Converge International. When our respective state governments lifted restrictions, a return to the office was centrally managed in each office to ensure a safe return to the workplace.

What sets Mazars apart from other firms?

We are a multicultural, integrated and united partnership, with shared goals, values and services across the world. Everyone is made to feel they have a purpose where you can actively contribute towards the firm’s success from day one. Our people come first and upon joining you will be immersed in a team which feels like a family, working with role model managers and open-minded leaders who will value and listen to your opinion. At Mazars you will be part of a team where all levels work as one, and we are certain you can make friends for life. We celebrate what makes us different and provide challenging and opportunities for everyone to grow and thrive.

Can you describe the firm culture?

Our values are at the heart of what we do. We expect everyone to be able to demonstrate them (integrity, responsibility, diversity and respect, technical excellence, independence and stewardship).

Mazars Australia has the benefits, opportunities and resources that being part of a multi-national corporation brings and at the same time, a family-like, friendly, supportive environment within the office, where everyone knows and makes time for each other.

How is gender diversity supported at Mazars?

One of our six core values is diversity and respect. Mazars is striving towards a diverse and equal workplace. Accelerating gender diversity amongst staff and Partners is one of the key priorities in coming years. Mazars has driven forward gender diversity aiming to empower women and maximising their impact in business. One of the initiatives that feeds into this goal is the Women@Mazars program which aims to create equitable opportunity, presence, and impact at all levels in the organisation. This is a network open to both men and women who are interested in supporting gender equality in the workplace.

Globally Mazars offers an annual Women’s Leadership Seminar, which is an empowerment program dedicated to talented women with leadership potential. It is aimed at reinforcing self-confidence, building a strong network of future female leaders, and maximising their impact in business.

We proudly support International Women’s Day each year. In 2021 we participated in the #choosetochallenge campaign, which you can view via our social media platforms to see how we have shown our commitment to calling out inequality. We are also proud supporters of the charity Dress for Success, whose mission is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
